We designed a drainage solution to fit the client’s budget. The primary drainage system is slightly uphill of the house and guides the flow of water around the house instead of towards the house. The secondary system is a series of French drains that were installed next to the house and along the low spot of the yard. These French drains are an added layer of protection in case the primary system overloaded in heavy storms. Small drains were also placed in the yard to remove pooling.

This home was under threat for a flooded downstairs living area within a few inches of rain every time there was a storm. Property and investment was at risk, not to mention a moldy interior and damage to the foundation. The mountain rises close to the back patio. Water descends heavily several times a year on this back yard.
